Jazz Chart Searcher

Find currently published jazz charts fast

Updated November 3, 2026

Jazz Chart Searcher is a search engine, not a store. Like Google, it links to information published by others — it sells nothing. Arrangers and publishers are solely responsible for the rights to the works they offer.
Please note:

This current SEARCHER identifies 11,892 currently available charts (1,007 Easy · 6,518 Medium · 3,873 Difficult) obtained from the online catalogs of 33 primary publishers, with 1,446 arrangers in the data. Updated November 3, 2026.

About this Searcher

Jazz Chart Searcher is a search engine, not a store: it links to charts published by others, and those who offer them are responsible for their rights.

This copyrighted Jazz Chart Searcher was created by a retired jazz ensemble director for jazz ensemble directors — especially useful for young directors — to widen their search for specific and/or new jazz ensemble music. It is also a resource for concert planning.

Entries are drawn from publicly available publisher information and added only when title, arranger/composer, and source can be verified. Many publishers maintain catalogs larger than what appears here; full lists remain on each publisher's website. The goal is a practical, searchable starting point — not an exhaustive inventory of every title in print.

This database is curated from verified public listings and is not a complete works list for every arranger/composer, who are encouraged to contribute their own CSV to the webmaster for inclusion.

How is this search engine copyrighted?

The same way Google's is — in its parts:

  • Its code. The program that runs this Searcher — including the algorithm created by the author — is original work, and software code is copyrighted the moment it is written.
  • Its words and design. The text on this site and the way it is laid out are original work.
  • Its collection. These charts were gathered, checked, and organized by hand into the fields you search. Copying the whole collection copies that work.

What is not copyrighted here: the facts — titles, names, and prices belong to nobody — and the music itself, which belongs to its composers, arrangers, and publishers.

How to use this Searcher
  • Selected titles are a planning list only. Purchasing is done on each publisher's website.
  • Clicking a title opens the publisher's page for that chart. Please notify Jim@jimwarrickmusic.com of incorrect links or data errors.
  • Totals shown reflect publisher prices. Prices and availability can change.
  • Print a PDF of your selections when ready. For best results when building and printing a program list, use a desktop browser.
  • All fields in the database are sortable.
How difficulty ratings are determined

Due to inconsistent standardization among publishers, this database maps available ratings into three levels: Easy (typically Grade 1-3/Beginning), Medium (typically Grade 3.5-4.5/Intermediate), and Difficult (Grade 4.5-5). Refer to the publisher website opened by the title link for the exact grade or series for each chart.

How to have your charts listed, or to report a mistake

Report a mistake: each row has a Report button for a bad link, arranger/composer mistake, better link, wrong difficulty, not a jazz ensemble chart, duplicate of another chart, or other issues.

Contribute charts: if you have 10 purchase-able jazz ensemble charts (or a verified list of your own arrangements) and want them considered for this Searcher, do the following:

  1. Email Jim@jimwarrickmusic.com with your request and how many titles you can provide.
  2. Provide a CSV with these fields (complete as possible):
    • Title
    • Arranger (Last name / First name)
    • Composer (Last name / First name)
    • Publisher
    • Difficulty (Easy / Medium / Difficult)
    • Style (if available from publisher)
    • Tempo (if available)
    • Year published (if available)
    • Approximate duration (if available)
    • Price (if available)
    • Link to the product page
Download a blank CSV template: submit-charts-template.csv.
  3. Confirm willingness to link to this copyrighted Searcher without altering its content.
  4. Expect a follow-up email before anything is added.
